A plan of consultations between the foreign ministries of Abkhazia and South Ossetia was signed in Sukhum

As part of the working trip to the Republic of Abkhazia, acting foreign Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev met with his Abkhazian counterpart Daur kove on Tuesday, the press service of the foreign Ministry reports.

Daur Kove thanked Dmitry Medoev for the visit, noting the traditionally friendly and fraternal ties of the Abkhaz and Ossetian peoples.

Dmitry Medoev, for his part, congratulated Daura Kove on the next anniversary of the Day of Victory and Independence in the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia, wished the entire staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs success in fulfilling the tasks set.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, exchanged views on topical issues of mutual interest, touched upon the aggravation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stressing that there is no alternative to a peaceful resolution of the situation.

At the end of the meeting, the ministers signed a Plan of Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia for 2021 - 2022.

On the same day, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev was received by President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania.

The parties discussed a wide range of cooperation issues between South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Dmitry Medoev also conveyed to Aslan Bzhania a personal congratulatory message on the 27th anniversary of Victory on behalf of South Ossetian President Anatoly Bibilov.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Daur Kove and Ambassador of South Ossetia to Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev.
