South Ossetia should not remain aloof from what is happening around the world, it is necessary to analyze the events taking place in Nagorno-Karabakh, Syria and other "hot spots", President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov said.

"It is necessary to analyze and understand what is needed for our Ministry of Defense to develop in science-intensive areas. Without this, we will not be able to move forward, without this it will be difficult to talk about the defense capability of our state," Bibilov said at the reporting meeting of the defense department.

He has noted that the armed forces of the Republic are honorably fulfilling their duty and urged the leadership of the Ministry of Defense to increase cooperation with Russia in the future.

"In terms of the defense capability of South Ossetia, interaction with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation plays an important role. First of all, this interaction should be organized in order to convey to those people who today in Georgia do not abandon their military ambitions that somewhere the flag of Georgia will fly. The Republic of South Ossetia is an independent state that is ready to provide protection for its population together with the units of the 4th base of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Border Guard Service of the FSB of Russia, "the President said.
