A press conference dedicated to the tour of the State Drama Theater of South Ossetia was held in Moscow

On April 6, in the art salon of the A.A. Yablochkina Central House of Actor. a press conference was held dedicated to the tour of the K. Khetagurov South Ossetian State Drama Theater in Moscow, director of the South Ossetian theater Madina Valieva told IA Res. The event was attended by the organizers of the project from the Central House of Actors - director of the Central House of Actors Pavel Tikhomirov, Irina Moskalenko, People's Artists of Russia Alyona Okhlupina and Maria Bylova, Honored Artists of Russia Inna Kara-Mosko and Svetlana Potanina, actress Olga Dubovitskaya, laureate of the All-Russian competition Mikhail Blyshchik; Larisa Kanevskaya, editor-in-chief of the online magazine Opinion, and other media representatives.

For the South Ossetian part the event was attended by the cultural attaché of the South Ossetian embassy in Russia Vladimir Sergeev, artistic director of the theater Tamerlan Dzudtsov and director of the theater Madina Valieva

According to Valiyeva, the South Ossetian participants of the event told about the rich history of the South Ossetian theater and its present day, about South Ossetia, expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov for all-round support, to the. A.A. Yablochkina Central House of Artists for a warm welcome, outlined ways for further cooperation and invited those present to the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the theater.

“We told about the history of our theater, about its present day, about the new building where we have recently moved, talked about the repertoire and how the coronavirus pandemic affected the work of the theater. For us, this is only the beginning of a long journey, a renaissance of the post-pandemic period and forced downtime,” Valieva said.

The director of the State Drama Theater also said that an agreement had been reached with the director of the Russian Academic Youth Theater Sophia Apfelbaum that the troupe would visit South Ossetia this May.

“I had a meeting with Sofya Mikhailovna Apfelbaum and she confirmed that at the end of May they will come to us on tour with two performances, which I will tell you about in more detail upon my arrival in Tskhinval,” Valieva said.

On the same day, according to the director of the theater, the play "Fando and the Fox" by Fernando Arrabal staged by Jan Yanovsky was shown on the stage of the Youth Theater. Among the spectators was Yan Yanovsky's mother-in-law, the well-known Russian actress Marina Poroshina.

“We met her. She said that the performance had impressed her. She spoke warmly about our theater, about the performance, the acting, the meanings put into the performance. We invited her to come to South Ossetia,” Valieva said.

It should be reminded, that the South Ossetian State Drama Theater named after Kosta Khetagurov, on the invitation of the A.A. Yablochkina Central House of Actor, went on tour to Moscow on April 2. "Days of the Ossetian Theater" will be held in Moscow until April 8th.
