On the basis of the Multidisciplinary Medical Center, with the support of forensic experts of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), professional training for morgue employees is being held from 5 to 9 April.

As reported to IA “Res" by the ICRC press service, the training is being carried out within the framework of the Coordination Mechanism on the issues of persons missing in connection with the armed conflicts of the 1990s and 2008, with the aim of supporting the development of local resources of forensic medical expertise.

“We are pleased to note the level of interaction with all structures and departments involved in the process of clarifying the fate and whereabouts of the missing,” says the head of the ICRC Mission, Echezarreta Inyuritegi. "The active participation and interest of the Acting Deputy Head of the director of the Multidisciplinary Medical Center for forensic medical examination, Zarina Dzagoeva, is extremely important for this process."

The training sessions cover the identification process, DNA analysis applicable to the identification of missing persons, forensic anthropology, and the collection of samples recovered from human remains for DNA testing. The training also includes hands-on exercises and explains standard operating procedures.

In addition to the training, the ICRC donated specialized equipment to the morgue staff, including a digital caliper, a tenfold illuminated magnifier, laboratory scales, specialized masks, standard photo scale sets, a full-length plastic model of the human skeleton and other items necessary for working with human subjects. remains.
