Servicemen of the Defense Ministry of South Ossetia - cadets of the General V. Margelov Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School took part in the international stage of the "Sayan March-2021", ski mountaineering competition, held within the framework of ARMI-2021. This was reported on the official website of the Defense Ministry.
The competition was being held from April 14 to April 16 in the Krasnoyarsk Territory at the Ergaki mountain training base. The team of the Defense Ministry of the Republic of South Ossetia included seven cadets. The team leader is Junior Sergeant Marat Tedeev.
“We arrived here in the evening of April 7. We had four days to prepare. The competition started yesterday. In total, we walked 20 km through the snow-covered mountain-wooded area. We spent the night in the forest, and in the morning, we continued our way. There were 11 stages on the route. The main focus was on ski and mountain preparation,” he said.
Tedeev has stressed that the team took part in the competition for the first time.
“Our participation was more of an informational nature. We got acquainted with the route, with the conditions of the competition, taking into account our own mistakes and the mistakes of our rivals on the route. Now we will be preparing for the next year, we are sure that we will show a worthy result,” he added.
