Representatives of the Russian embassy in South Ossetia, headed by Marat Kulakhmetov, laid flowers at the monument to Soviet soldiers located at the Tskhinval cemetery.

"Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov laid flowers at the monument to Soviet soldiers who died in the evacuation hospitals of Stalinir from 1941 to 1945, at the Zguder cemetery in Tskhinval," the Russian Embassy said in a statement posted to the diplomatic agency's Facebook group ".

In the capital of the Republic, on May 8 and 9, events are being held on Victory Day with the participation of the leadership of the Republic, headed by President Anatoly Bibilov, military personnel, and representatives of the public. In the morning, on the Walk of Fame in the capital of the Republic, a solemn meeting was held, timed to coincide with the next anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people over the Nazi invaders. The "Soldier's Halt" was also held for veterans and other residents of the Republic on the territory of the pioneer park.

On Saturday, a ceremony was also held to unveil a monument to the Red Army soldier Mity (Dmitry) Pukhaev in the village of Skhlit, Znaur district. Representatives of the leadership of the Republic, headed by President Anatoly Bibilov, also honored the memory of the residents of the village of Pris, Tskhinval district, perished on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War.

On May 9, in Tskhinval, on the Theater Square, the Victory Parade will take place at 11:00, followed by a procession of the "Immortal Regiment", as well as a festive concert.
