Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev sent a congratulatory message to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres on the occasion of the Sandinista Revolution Day, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
The South Ossetian Foreign Minister stressed the significance of the date for the people of Nicaragua.
"On this day 42 years ago, the Nicaraguan people, under the leadership of their vanguard, the Sandinista Front of National Liberation, overthrew the dictatorship of Somoza and wrote a new bright page in the chronicle of their liberation struggle. Having passed the heroic path to freedom and independence, the victorious people faced the need to solve the most difficult tasks of large-scale socio-economic revival of the country and coped with the difficulties and challenges of a new historical stage.
Today, the Republic of Nicaragua firmly and consistently continues to the ideas of the Sandinista revolution into reality, successfully realizing its national potential for confident progressive development in all spheres of public life and implementing the high ideals of freedom, equality and development, "the congratulatory text says.
Dmitry Medoev noted the gratitude of the people of South Ossetia Nicaragua for their support.
"Republic of South Ossetia will always be grateful to Republic of Nicaragua for all-round support and long-term friendship," the head of the Republic's Foreign Ministry stressed and expressed "sincere interest in further continuing a constructive dialogue and strengthening friendly mutually beneficial interstate relations based on trust, mutual respect and common interests".
