The construction of a backup power line was discussed by President of South Ossetia with Deputy Head of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Rashid Nurgaliev discussed on Tuesday issues of energy security of the Republic of South Ossetia.

Particular attention was paid to the need to build a backup power line. The head of state has noted that the attention of the Russian leadership to the designated problem will give a certain impetus to further joint actions.

“The work continues on the range of issues that we have identified. A backup power supply line is very important for the Republic of South Ossetia. I would like all these works to be completed within the framework of the outlined plans, so that this year the Republic will receive electricity through the reserve line,” the head of state said.

He also thanked Rashid Nurgaliev for his approach, contributing to the solution of pressing problems of the regions of the Republic of South Ossetia.

For his part, Rashid Nurgaliev has stressed that the issue of energy security in South Ossetia is under the control of the Russian leadership.

“We are interested in energy security. We see how complex the processes are in the case of man-made problems and other peculiarities. It is necessary to assess together today, and tomorrow at the Ruck tunnel on the spot to see what problems there are, what needs to be solved first of all now and what stage we are at. On the other hand, in my opinion, it is necessary to define a clear shedule, given that the order has specific deadlines,” he said.

Also, according to him, today was a productive working day. The situation on the state border, houses built within the framework of the border program, and so on were examined.

“I want to say that this program was done on time and assistance was provided on time. People thank the leadership of the Republic for creating such conditions,” said Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

Rashid Nurgaliev's working visit will continue in the Republic until Wednesday.
