South Ossetia would never stand against the enemy if it were not for the support of the North Ossetian brothers

Speaker of the South Ossetian Parliament Peter Gassiev met with the delegation of North Ossetia, which arrived at a solemn meeting in honor of the completion of the work of the VI convocation of the Republic’s parliament. Speaker welcomed the guests, noting that such a solemn meeting was held in the Republic for the first time.

The head of the South Ossetian delegation at a meeting in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRMI), Yegor Kochiev, rejected the accusations of Georgia about the alleged violation of the Georgian airspace by a Russian helicopter.

"The Georgian party accused us of having crossed the Georgian airspace by a Russian helicopter, and activated this issue during the IPRM meeting, but did not provide any evidence," Kochiev told reporters on the results of the IPRM meeting on Thursday in the border region of Ergnet.

Deputy head of the Italian city of Randazzo, where more than 300 kinds of wine are made, has compared Ossetian wine with the Sicilian one, told reporters Deputy head of the city of Randazzo Carmelo Tindaro Scalizi at a briefing in Tskhinval.

"We have tasted the Ossetian wine – it is very good, it resembles the Sicilian wine in taste," said the Deputy head of Randazzo.

On the eve of the meeting, President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, during a meeting with the Italian delegation, presented them bottles of the Ossetian export wine produced at the “Ironsan Winery”.

Joint tourist exchange projects are planning to implement the cities of Randazzo and Tskhinval within the framework of the Friendship and Cooperation Agreement, told reporters on Thursday representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Italy, Mauro Murgia,.

“We are working to implement tourist exchange projects. This would be beneficial for both Tskhinval and Randazzo,” said Murgia.

On May 20, South Ossetia will host commemorative events to mark the 27th anniversary of the 1992 ZAR tragedy. As noted by Minister of Culture of the Republic Zhanna Zasseeva during the meeting with representatives of state organizations, May 20 is the day of memory and sorrow in the Republic.

Former IBF and WBA world champion in the first heavyweight Russian Murat Gassiev, most likely, will hold his first heavyweight fight on July 27, media reports referring to ESPN.

Gassiev will perform on the undercard of the tournament, which will lead the fight with the participation of WBO world junior welterweight champion Maurice Hooker. The venue and the opponent of the Russian boxer have not yet been determined.

Tskhinval and Randazzo became sister cities - the corresponding document was signed on Wednesday.

The delegation of the province of Catania (Italian Republic) visited South Ossetia. A meeting of the Italian guests with the leadership of the administration of the city of Tskhinval took place. Following the meeting, a Cooperation Agreement was signed.

The head of the Tskhinval city administration, Alan Kochiev, thanked the guests for the visit, and announced his intention to develop relations between the cities.

President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, said that the development of cooperation between the Italian and South Ossetian cities would help the relations of South Ossetia and Italy to reach the interstate level. The head of state said this at a meeting with the Deputy head of the city of Randazzo Carmelo Tindaro Scalizi in Tskhinval.

Director of the South Ossetian Kosta Khetagurov State Drama Theater Madina Valieva met with the Deputy Chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia Dmitry Mozgov, the press service of the South Ossetian State Drama Theater reports.

During the meeting it was discussed opportunities for cooperation in the framework of the participation of the South Ossetian State Drama Theater in the educational programs of the Union of Theater Workers.

President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, has noted that South Ossetia is looking for ways to dialogue and establishing relations with all countries, including Iran, which is a "related to Ossetians" state.
