According to the information of the press-service of the Ministry of Defence and extreme situations of South Ossetia Republic,the southern outskirts of Tshinval have been fired in the night from January, 28 for January, 29th.

As a result of the carried out monitoring of the tripartite observers of the Operative Staff of JPKF together with the representatives of the mission of OSCE is established the fact of an armed attack on the post of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia of the town Tskhinval from the territory of Georgia, as a result of which the three employees have received gunshot wounds of various degree of severity.

On the diversion occurred last nights the RSO President Eduard Kokoity made a statement:
“We regret that the Georgian side together with its puppet leadership perceived our peaceful initiatives and proposal to carry on with the negotiation process in this way.

Today at 03:30 a.m. a saboteur group of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia made a provocative sally from Georgian village Nikozi, shelled southern outskirts of Tskhinval and check-points of the Ministry of Interior of the RSO.

According to the reached arrangement between the heads of the South-Ossetian and the Georgian parts of JCC on January, 23rd, 2007 in Tskhinval it should take place the meeting, devoted to the questions of payment of the accounts receivable at a rate of more than 33 million roubles for the consumed electric power by the settlements of South Ossetia Republic mainly with the Georgian population, and also the supplying with an electric power from Georgia the ossetian villages of the Tskhinvalskiy and Leningorskiy areas.

The South-Ossetian part of the Joint Control Commission marks, that lately the situation in the zone of the georgian-ossetian conflict has again become aggravated.
The Georgian party, continuing supporting the failure of the peace-making operation, leaves without reaction such incidents and crimes as the subversive and terrorist acts against the military men of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in the zone of the conflict.

The first vice-president of the Government of South Ossetia Republic,the Co-chairman of the Mixed Supervisory Commission from the South-Ossetian party Boris Chochiev has sent a letter to the Charge d'Affaires ad interim in affairs of Russia in Georgia Ivan Volynkin,to the ambassador of the USA in Georgia John Teft, to the ambassador of Great Britain in Georgia Donald MacLaren,to the ambassador of France in Georgia Phillip Lefor,to the ambassador of Germany in Georgia Mrs. Patrisia Flor,to the ambassador of Italy in Georgia Fabricio Romano, to the Head of the Mission of OSCE in Georgia Roy Riv and to the Head of the Delegation of the Eurocommission in Georgia and Armenia Pierre Eklundu.

As the correspondent of the agency "Res" has been informed at the information-analytical department of the south-ossetian part of the Mixed Supervisory Commission, the head of the south-ossetian part of the Mixed Supervisory Commission on settlement of the georgian-ossetian conflict (Mixed Supervisory Commission) Boris Chochiev has sent a letter to the State minister on settlement of conflicts of Georgia, the co-chairman of the Mixed Supervisory Commission from the Georgian party Merab Antadze, in which, in particular, it is spoken: «The south-ossetian part of the Mixed Supervisory Commission has received a letter from the Republican Association "Power" about the accounts receivable on payment for the consumed electric power by the companies of Bolshaya Liahva and Malaya Liakhva.

For the last half a year the Georgian party constantly blocks the format of the Mixed Supervisory Commission on unintelligible to us reasons and does not participate in the negotiating process.

On January, 18th, 2007 according to the plan of activity, a monitoring of the settlements and areas in the zone of responsibility was held by the Mixed forces on peace maintenance in the georgian-ossetian conflict zone.
