In South Ossetia, two new cases of coronavirus infection have been revealed among the quarantined citizens, said Anna Gagloeva, Deputy Head of the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, told IA "Res"

Over the past two weeks, no new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the Republic. According to data on the morning of July 10, the number of cases increased to 87 (two the day before), 85 have already recovered and discharged from medical facilities.

"For the day, 61 tests were conducted for citizens who are in quarantine, two of them showed a positive result, these are citizens who arrived from North Ossetia," Gagloeva clarified.

In the laboratory of the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee from May of this year, 2,803 tests for coronavirus were conducted.

"To date, 272 people are quarantined in South Ossetia, of which 194 are in medical facilities, the majority are citizens of the Republic who have returned from Russia through the consular department in North Ossetia, 8 Russian construction specialists who arrived in the Republic and truck drivers, delivering goods, "she said.

Under quarantine zones in the Republic, are assigned the wards in the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Center in Tskhinval in the district hospitals of the settlements of Dzau, Znaur and Leningor, as well as the building of the former maternity hospital and the hotel "Alan".

Additional test systems for detecting a new type of coronavirus were recently imported to the Republic.

The Cabinet of Ministers of South Ossetia extended the ban on crossing the border with Russia until July 31. An exception is made only for trucks, for which a timetable for crossing the border is established, as well as for citizens of South Ossetia outside the Republic who can return to their homeland after applying to the South Ossetian Consulate in North Ossetia. Earlier, South Ossetian authorities completely closed the border with Georgia.

At the same time, restrictions on holding cultural events were lifted in the Republic, public places were opened, and kindergartens resumed their work on July 2.
