Security and the achievement of a legally binding agreement on the non-use of force with Georgia remain the key priorities for South Ossetia at the upcoming Geneva International Discussions.

This was stated by the Republic's Foreign Minister, Akhsar Dzhioev, commenting on Tskhinval's position ahead of the 66th round, which will take place on March 18-19.

According to the Minister, South Ossetia's position on these issues remains unchanged and will be reiterated at the meeting in Geneva.

A single state with Georgia is out of the question. South Ossetia has its own path and is focused on partnership with the Russian Federation Akhsar Dzhioyev, a head of the Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has stated at the press conference, commenting on the recent statement by the Georgian President.

Dzhioev has noted that South Ossetia's official position on this issue is well known and remains unchanged. It has been repeatedly stated by the Republic's President, Alan Gagloev, and representatives of the Foreign Ministry.

South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev declared the unchanged positions of the countries that have recognized the Republic's independence and emphasized the strategic course toward deepening integration with Russia.

The corresponding instructions were given to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.

During the government meeting on Wednesday, the President noted that the partners who had recognized South Ossetia's state sovereignty confirmed the firmness of their decisions.

South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev has expressed condolences to Bryansk Region Governor Alexander Bogomaz over the tragedy that occurred in Bryansk.

"On behalf of people of the Republic of South Ossetia and on my own behalf, I express my sincere and deep condolences over the tragedy that occurred in Bryansk as a result of a missile strike that took the lives of six civilians and injured dozens.

South Ossetia participated in one of the key high-tech events—the IV Future Technologies Forum (FTF-2026), held at the Moscow World Trade Center.

The Republic was represented at the Forum by Maria Kabisova, Deputy Director of the South Ossetian Research Institute.

The invitation to participate was sent by Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to President of the Russian Federation.

As the Deputy Director shared with IA "Res", the Forum allowed the participants to learn about the latest developments of bio-economics, which was the main focus of the 2026 agenda.

The Beslan School No. 1 Center discussed the creation of the international award named in honor of the children of Beslan. The award will be presented for contribution to preserving peace, combating aggression, and helping children.

The project was initiated by Mauro Murgia, the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry representative in Italy, the Foreign Ministry's press service reports.

On Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry held interagency consultations between the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev and the leadership of the Fourth CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, which oversees the Caucasus.

During the meeting, the parties held a detailed exchange of views on the most pressing aspects of the regional agenda.

In Moscow, South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev met with First Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Rashid Nurgaliev. According to the South Ossetian leader's press service, the parties discussed the current issues of cooperation between South Ossetia and Russia.

Particular attention was paid to security issues and the further strengthening of interagency cooperation. The meeting participants confirmed their mutual interest in expanding bilateral cooperation in key areas.

The South Ossetian Parliament Speaker Alan Margiev met with the State Duma Deputy Kazbek Taysayev.

The meeting was also attended by the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Parliament Deputy Chermen Dudati, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Zita Besaeva, Deputy Speaker Taymuraz Tadtaev, and a deputy Malkhaz Gagloyev.

During the meeting, Margiev emphasized the continued strengthening and development of inter-parliamentary dialogue between South Ossetia and Russia, the Parliament's press service reports.

A meeting between the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev and First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko took place in the Kremlin, the Presidential press service reports.

At the beginning of the meeting, Alan Gagloev thanked Sergei Kiriyenko for his comprehensive support of the Republic and constructive cooperation in all areas.
