Minister of Internal Affairs Alan Guchmazov has received the head of the medical and sanitary unit of Ministry of Internal Affairs, police lieutenant colonel Georgiy Margiev, who came home to South Ossetia from the special military operation zone on a short leave.

“Within the framework of this Agreement, we have a common security contour with Russia, that is, an attack on South Ossetia will be considered an attack on Russia,” he said.

South Ossetia will hold consultations with the Russian partto maximize the advancement of the issue of dual citizenship, said South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev.

“The agreement on resolving issues of dual citizenship with Russia was signed in 2020, until the document came into force. In order for it to fully work, a mechanism is needed where all the details for its implementation will be spelled out,” Dzhioev said.

According to him, the agreement implies that the mechanism will be reflected in the decree of the Russian President.

South Ossetia does not yet see the threat of Georgia opening a second front against Russia, Foreign Minister of the Republic Akhsar Dzhioev said at the briefing in Tskhinval.

“I don’t think that Georgia has a great desire to attack South Ossetia and Russia, a nuclear power. There are no such short-sighted politicians there yet. The last of these is located in places that are not so remote (editor’s note from Saakashvili),” Dzhioev said.

He has emphasized that Russia is a strategic partner of South Ossetia, a guarantor of peace and security for the people of the Republic.

After the victory of Vladimir Putin, South Ossetia will continue to interact in very close contact with Russian colleagues and progressively develop, Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev said at the briefing in Tskhinval.

The Union State of Russia and Belarus is a very important body with which South Ossetia would like to cooperate, but it is too early to talk about joining it, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, Akhsar Dzhioev, noted at the briefing at the Information and Press Committee of the Republic.

“We have contacts with the bodies of the Union State. We maintain relations with its standing committee. Last year we had the opportunity to participate in the Union State event in Brest, and we are planning this year too,” Dzhioev said.

The leader of South Ossetia, Alan Gagloev, congratulated Vladimir Putin on his election victory and re-election as President of the Russian Federation.

Gagloev noted that Putin’s leadership, as well as his leadership of the country made possible a huge leap in the country’s development and an impressive strengthening of Russia’s position in the world.

At the Zguder cemetery in Tskhinval, at the mass grave where 12 Ossetian guys are buried, flowers were laid.

On Monday, South Ossetia is commemorating the victims of the Ered tragedy - one of the most monstrous and cruel crimes in the modern history of Ossetia.

Hundreds of citizens came to pay tribute to the memory of the victims: representatives of the leadership of the Republic, the Russian Embassy, residents, employees of the ministries, departments, and relatives of the victims.

On the day of the Ered tragedy, South Ossetia commemorates its innocently murdered citizens year after year, announcing to the world about the gravest crime against humanity, which still shocks by its particular cruelty.
