23 years have passed since the Eredvi tragedy. March 18, 1991 in the village of Eredvi, Tskhinval district of South Ossetia took place one of the most horrible tragedies in the history of the Ossetian people - Georgian fascists soldered alive in iron pipes 12 Ossetians and then buried them.
The Eredvi tragedy, along with other brutal crimes committed by Georgians against Ossetians, occupies a special place for its cruelty and inhumanity in the history of the genocide of the Ossetian people. The past years have not obliterated the memory of those tragic days, when Ossetia buried its martyred sons. Today Georgia continues its fascist policy that is elevated to the level of national idea. Aggressive speeches by Georgian nationalists, protest actions along the state border of South Ossetia are ongoing that indicates that the sentiments in Georgia have changed little since 1991.
March 18, 1991 near the village of Eredvi Georgian gunmen put off 25 Ossetians out of military vehicles "Ural", owned by the Soviet Interior Ministry troops. Women and children were brutally beaten, but released and 12 guys after a brutal beating were delivered to the "headquarters" of the Georgian armed gangs for further torturing. However, the headquarters refused to receive them. After that, the gunmen delivered the Ossetians to the Georgian villages, shouting: "Who wants Ossetian blood," but the villagers closed their doors.
Then, according to witnesses, after severe torturing (they were beaten, tortured with electric current, broken bones, and then their arms and legs were tore off, put out eyes) the Ossetians were thrown alive into the ravine, doused with gasoline, set on fire and at the same time earthed up, buried alive over the village of Eredvi at the career, and over the burial place for the purpose of concealing the traces was laid a road.
Members of the People's Party appeal to the widows, mothers and children of the heroically perished sons of Ossetia:
"We share with you the pain of loss! The names of all the 12 lost guys will never be forgotten in South Ossetia. Their names are written in the history of the liberation of South Ossetia from Georgian gangs. These guys defended their homeland from Nazi Georgia in difficult 90s, when each submachine gun was worth its weight in gold. But strong-willed, they met their death with dignity. Thanks to the defenders of South Ossetia in the Republic is restored peace and independence! It should be remembered by each of us!
The party members believe that all the 12 brutally murdered Ossetians should be posthumously awarded medals for the defense of South Ossetia....
