Deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia considered the cooperation agreements between the Parliament of the Republic and the People’s Councils of the DPR and the LPR.
The question at the meeting was raised by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Igor Kochiev.
As noted by Kochiev, based on the mutual desire of both parties to expand and strengthen inter-parliamentary ties and exchange experience in the field of lawmaking, the legislative bodies agreed on mutual cooperation.
“The parties intend to promote the establishment and development of direct contacts between individual deputies, parliamentary committees, commissions, deputy associations, contributing to establish permanent links between the Parliament of South Ossetia and the people's councils of the DPR and the LPR,” Kochiev said.
Kochiev has stressed that the agreement with the DPR is planned to be signed in February – March, 2019.
“The draft agreement has been coordinated with our colleagues from the DPR, and we plan to sign it during the visit of the delegation of the Republic’s parliament to Donetsk in February-March,” Kochiev said.
The Parliament Speaker Petr Gassiev appealed to the deputies' corps, noting that the Parliament should support these agreements, as it brings a lot of benefits for the Republic.
The deputies approved the agreement by voting unanimously.
It should be reminded that in April 2016, the parliaments of the RSO and the DPR concluded a Memorandum on inter-parliamentary cooperation. The document was signed by the Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia (theincumbent President of South Ossetia - Anatoly Bibilov and the Chairman of the People’s Council of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
