President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov met with the Chairman of the Russian National Committee for Black Sea Economic Cooperation (RNC BSEC) Viktor Arkhipov, the press service of the head of state reported.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia - Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of South Ossetia Dzambolat Tadtaev, member of the Council of the RNC BSEC Vladimir Medvedev and official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RSO to the RNC BSEC Viktor Bunin.
Greeting the guests, Anatoly Bibilov has noted the effectiveness of the forum, which was recently held in South Ossetia.
“The goal we set is a serious one – to develop the opportunities for studying the situation in the Kvaisa fields. This is a serious step for the development of the Republic. Yesterday a memorandum of intent was signed between the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian National Committee for Black Sea Economic Cooperation. I hope that the progressive development of the South Ossetian economy will continue,” the President said.
Anatoly Bibilov noted the importance of the implementation of the Kvaisa mine management project not only for the city of Kvaisa, but also for the Republic as a whole.
For his part, Viktor Arkhipov thanked the head of the South Ossetian state for the warm welcome, having noted that the forum was the first step.
“We have assembled a group of specialists. But in order to get started, we needed your kindness, your consent. We will be conducting research and will find out the real reserves,” he said.
Vladimir Medvedev, member of the Council of the RNC BSEC, has explained that they have been dealing with high-purity metals for a long time.
“We have well-established connections for the implementation of the project. We work with ultra-pure metals that have a good added value. I think that in the Kvaisa field we will be able to organize such a production - a mining and processing enterprise that will produce pure products that we can sell both on the international and domestic markets," he said, emphasizing that it is necessary to carry out geological exploration work and sign an investment agreement.
In turn, Dzambolat Tadtaev reported that Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of South Ossetia is working on the issues of interdepartmental cooperation, collecting the information on the Kvaisa mining department, so that the investor has all the legal grounds to work in the Republic.
Anatoly Bibilov spoke about investment activities in South Ossetia.
“Investors are satisfied with the legal relationships and guarantees provided by the leadership of the republic. An example is the "Southern Garden", investments left about 230 million rubles and they continue to invest. They planted a garden on 350 hectares and want to bring it to 515 hectares. Last year "Southern Garden" exported 1050 tons of apples from South Ossetia. Up to 2000 tons are planned for the current year. The winery took out 2.5 million bottles. We provide them with assistance, which gives them an incentive to develop their production. Everything is developing dynamically,” he said.
As for the Leningor brewery, which has been in disrepair for a long time, according to the President, the first production is planned to be received in early April.
“They are all Russian investors. For us, an investor means jobs, taxes. For four years, investors have shown serious results. I can safely say that the investment weather in the Republic of South Ossetia is stable. Investments are protected in all directions,” said Anatoly Bibilov.
Victor Arkhipov has added that they have a structure that reveals everything from oil to precious and semi-precious metals using modern methods and space exploration. He expressed his readiness to do the relevant work in order to obtain geological information, to get a complete picture of all the minerals that are in South Ossetia.
“It is planned to conduct an environmental expertise. All production will be environmentally friendly. All enterprises will be environmentally friendly. And the old lands can be reclaimed for agriculture,” he said.
The President has emphasized that the production, without a doubt, must comply with all environmental standards in order to preserve the beauty and ecology of the nature of the Republic and wished the guests successful and fruitful work.
