Enough time has passed since August 2008 for official Tbilisi to accept the existing realities and recognize the sovereignty of South Ossetia. This is stated in the statement by a representative of the RSO Foreign Ministry in connection with the statement of the Georgian Dream party.

The Foreign Ministry has noted that against the backdrop of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia in October, the Georgian politicians are increasingly making various declarative statements regarding the status of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

The methods of the Georgian side frankly do not contribute to the creation of a more positive atmosphere in relations with South Ossetia, President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev said in the interview with Izvestia.

The President has noted that instead of constructive dialogue, the Republic is being addressed with speculative calls to join the European Union with Georgia by 2030.

"South Ossetia has long ago and irrevocably decided on its choice of friends and allies. Our path is the integration with Russia," Gagloev snapped.
