STATEMENT OF THE JOINT PEACE KEEPING FORCES IN THE ZONE OF THE GEORGIAN-OSSETIAN CONFLICT

On 15 January at 13:05 during patrolling a country road two kilometers north from the JPKF observation point “Pauk” an armored vehicle exploded on an antitank mine. As a result of the explosion were severely wounded two soldiers of the JPKF Russian battalion.
Currently the Russian peacekeeping field engineering battalion is investigating the scene. The injured soldiers were taken to the Republican hospital in Tskhinval where they were rendered medical assistance.
