The 7th Congress of the Ossetian people is ongoing in Vladikavkaz. The South Ossetian and North Ossetian government, representatives of Ossetian diasporas of Russian and overseas are participating in the Congress.
On behalf of South Ossetians, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity in his speech expressed gratitude to government and the parliament of North Ossetia-Alania for support and assistance during the August tragedy.
”The Ossetian diasporas in Russia and overseas continue assisting us”, said Eduard Kokoity.
”I do not divide between South and North Ossetia. Our power is in unity. The great Alania would not fall apart if it were untied. The Congress must become the starting point for uniting the whole Ossetian people,” stated Kokoity.
“The year 2008 is the year of Transdnestria in South Ossetia. We opened it as a non-recognized state and we close it up as a recognized state”, underscored the South Ossetian Presidents.
After the speech of the RSO President, the Congress participants rose in memory of the victims of the Georgian aggression in August 2008, the residents of South Ossetia and Russian peacekeepers.
