Presidents of South Ossetia and Russia agreed to establish an effective mechanism for intergovernmental consultations

South Ossetia and Russia will establish a consultation mechanism for direct contact on addressing the problems facing the Republic. This has been declared by the Russian President Vladimir Putin at a briefing in Sochi after the meeting with President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov.

"We`ve come to an agreement that perfecting a mechanism the decisions would have been made more efficiently, and brought to complete fulfillment. The most basic goal - is to improve the life of people in South Ossetia, the return of refugees and resettlement of that part of refugees, who have been living more than ten years in the territory of South Ossetia in the adapted premises ", - Putin said, adding that "it is a very urgent social problem."
The Russian president said that over the past two and a half years, Russia had allocated 9 billion rubles for restoration of South Ossetia and another 8.5 billion rubles are provided for in 2011-2013.
"However, the scale of the problem is even larger than one could have done on the funds Russia has been allocating ", - Putin stressed.
According to Putin, he and the president of South Ossetia came to an agreement that they would once again analyze the situation very carefully and in different directions.
"This concerns the security sector, strengthening the power constituent of South Ossetia. This concerns the development of socio-economic sphere, - first of all, agriculture, processing, as well as social sphere-education, health, level of wages and pension system. Here's a sample of the complex issues that we`ve discussed today, "- said Putin.
In turn, South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov thanked the Russian side and President of Russia for their support and assistance and said that reconstruction of the country should take a more active pace.
"Restoring the Republic should be completed in less time and with vigor,"-said Tibilov.
He said that during his first meeting with the Russian President they had discussed the development of South Ossetia, in particular economic, health and education.
"We will follow this principle, and further cooperation will be directed to deepening these processes," - Tibilov underlined.
He has also stressed that South Ossetian people feel great gratitude to the Russian leadership for saving the Republic.
"By our work, actions we will prove the Great Russian state that people of South Ossetia can appreciate friendship and South Ossetia will always pursue the policy adopted by our ancestors, and their choice was - forever with Russia. We will follow this principle, and our future relationship will be directed at strengthening these processes", - underlined Tibilov.
It should be noted, that the enlarged session of the delegation of South Ossetia
and representatives of the Russian leadership was also held in Sochi. For the South Ossetian side the meeting was attended by Acting Deputy Prime Minister Domenty Kulumbegov, head of the Presidential Administration Boris Chochiev, Acting Foreign Minister Murat Dzhioev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation Dmitry Medoev, Acting Defence Minister Valeri Yakhnovets, Chairman of the Committee for State Security Boris Attoev, State Adviser to the President Konstantin Kochiev.
