A grand meeting ''With love to a woman'' dedicated to the International Women's Day March 8 has been held in Tskhinval. The event began with the performance by the South Ossetian folk orchestra under the direction of Nina Valieva.
Then the RSO President Leonid Tibilov congratulated the women-participants of the meeting. He has noted that there are a lot of women in South Ossetia, worthy of respect and emulation.
"Beautiful, strong, kind, you know how to stand up for truth and happiness of your family, your loved ones, for justice and for the future of your children, so - for your state and for the whole country," - said Tibilov.
The President has stressed that in the years of mortal danger looming over the Motherland, the South Ossetian women were bravely defending their homes, their land equally with men.
"The fate of the younger generation is created by your hands, your courage, patience, perseverance and wisdom. Taking into account all this, today I have signed a decree on the establishment of the national holiday - Mother's Day, "- said the president.
The event was followed by a concert with the performance of the South Ossetian art groups and artists.
