The main goal of the Georgian authorities, who, since 2009 have been submitting the resolution on refugees to the UN General Assembly, is the desire to demonstrate in this paper as if South Ossetia and Abkhazia are the parts of Georgia. This was stated by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia on the post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, commenting on the UN General Assembly`s adoption of the resolution on "The status of internally displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia, and the Tskhinvali region / South Ossetia, Georgia."

"I would like to note that we have repeatedly expressed our attitude to the resolution. The fact is that since 2009 the government of Georgia has been annually submitting this resolution to the General Assembly of the United Nations, pursuing, first of all, a political goal - to demonstrate as if South Ossetia and Abkhazia are the parts of Georgia. This is totally untrue, as far as since 2008, the Republic of South Ossetia and Abkhazia are the recognized members of the international community and have nothing to do with Georgia "- said the envoy.
This resolution, according to Dzhioev, will not contribute to a positive solution of the problem of refugees.
"On the contrary, the resolution worsens the situation, as the discussion of the problem of refugee is the task of the international discussions in Geneva, held since 2008 in accordance with the Medvedev-Sarkozy agreements. However, the Georgian authorities submitted the issue to the General Assembly of the United Nations, where South Ossetia and Abkhazia are not represented, so, one cannot say about any objective discussion and adoption of the objective document, "- said Dzhioev.
The envoy called absolutely cynic an appeal to the Geneva discussions on accelerating the solution to refugee problems.
"This resolution will ensure the problem of refugees not to be discussed in Geneva. We have repeatedly stated our position, as well as on the eve of the current discussion of the resolution at the UN. I repeat once again - in the near future this issue will not be raised in Geneva, "- stressed the envoy.
He has added, that South Ossetia has repeatedly stated that if the Georgian authorities want to attach a political hue to the issue of refugees, the South Ossetian officials are ready to come to New York to inform the members of the General Assembly about the position of the Republic of South Ossetia on this issue.
It should be reminded that June 13 the UN General Assembly adopted a submitted by Georgia draft resolution on Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
62 countries voted for the resolution, against - 16, 84 states abstained. The UN General Assembly resolutions are advisory and have no legal force.
