Professional boxer Murat Gassiev became European Champion

South Ossetian professional boxer Murat Gassiev (90.7kg) became the IBF European Champion among adults, after winning a 12-round bout victory over the Belgian boxer Ismail Abdul. According to a coach of the athlete Vitaliy Slanov, the fight was heavy for Gassiev.

"Murat won all the 12 rounds. In the last two rounds, he showed himself brilliantly and was very close to send his rival to a knockout, but the challenger has resisted- said Slanov. - Of course, we wanted to win early victory, but the rival did not give up. Ismail Abdul had never lost prematurely, though fought in the ring with many famous boxers."
For the 20-year-old Murat Gassiev, nicknamed "Iron," it was the first adult championship title and his 15th victory in professional boxing. In June 2013 he became the WBC World youth champion, having won a TKO victory over the Georgian professional boxer Levan Dzhomardashvili. He fought 14 bouts and had 14 wins, nine of them -by knockout. The 37 -year-old boxer Ismail Abdul, nicknamed "Cool," is a WBF Intercontinental Champion and the WBC Champion of Mediterranean countries. He has fought 80 professional bouts.
The fight took place in Chelyabinsk as part of the VI International Tournament "For Russia". As part of this tournament were also held seven fights in professional boxing, kickboxing, Thai-boxing.
