The Security Council of South Ossetia approved the plan on the safety of the parliamentary elections

Issues of security and law and order during the preparation and conducting of parliamentary elections in South Ossetia were discussed at the meeting of the Security Council of the Republic, held today under the chairmanship of President Leonid Tibilov.

At the beginning of the meeting Leonid Tibilov has stressed that elections to the Supreme legislative body of South Ossetia is the event of great importance for socio-political life of the Republic.
"The newly elected parliament will carry out a huge work enriching the legal framework of our country. The scale of the forthcoming work and the complexity of the existing problems require for their solution relevant laws and regulations. Therefore, we need an active parliament, able to effectively address legislative, socio-economic and public issues ", - said the head of state.
Leonid Tibilov has expressed the hope that people of South Ossetia will make their choice and give preference to professionals and experts, who enjoy prestige and authority.
"I hope that the new parliament of the Republic will meet our expectations," - said the head of state.
According to the head of the Central Electoral Commission of South Ossetia Bella Plieva, most of the work to prepare for the election has been completed.
"We have established territorial and divisional election committees and prepared all polling stations, as well as all the necessary documentation,"- said Plieva.
At the session of the Security Council was approved a plan to ensure security and law and order during the preparation and holding parliamentary elections.
