Participants of the Mechanisms to prevent and respond to incidents (MPRI) during today's meeting have noted that the situation at the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia is stable. The number of incidents and detentions for violation of the state border for the last month does not exceed the average rates.

This was announced today by the head of the South Ossetian delegation in the format of MPRI Khokh Gagloyty.
He has also said that since the previous meeting, it was recorded two cases of shelling the South Ossetian border signs in Znaur and Leningor districts of the Republic. Such incidents also occurred in the early autumn.
"In this regard, we expressed strong protest to the Georgian side, which also negatively assessed such incidents. We demanded to call for greater accountability of patrol division of Georgia ", - he said.
Gagloyty has stressed that such incidents can trigger a response, which, in turn, may complicate the situation at the state border.
During the meeting, according to the head of the South Ossetian delegation, the participants were also talking about the arrest of a dangerous criminal who escaped from the Tskhinval prison and detained while attempting illegal crossing of the state border of South Ossetia.
"He was trying to move from Georgia to South Ossetia. In this regard, we believe it is essential to recall that, according to our information, still three South Ossetian citizens, who committed felonies are hiding on the territory of Georgia. And we hope that the Georgian law enforcement agencies will do everything to arrest the perpetrators and hand them over to the authorities of South Ossetia ", - said Gagloyty.
He also noted that today's meeting was the 50th, and called the MPRI format "one of the few successful examples of making practical arrangements that have been achieved in the result of the efforts of diplomats of various countries."
"Given the political situation, it is important, and I think that in the future, this format will be introduced to the history of international diplomacy" - concluded Gagloyty.
The next meeting in the format of MPRI will be held January 20.
