South Ossetia and Syria have declared mutual recognition

The Republic of South Ossetia and the Syrian Arab Republic announced mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This is stated in the communique of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RSO on mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Syrian Arab Republic.
The message published on the official website of the foreign ministry says that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, authorized by its government, has the honor to declare that the Republic of South Ossetia and the Syrian Arab Republic, while reaffirming their commitment to the fundamental principles of international law, striving to establish and develop full-scale political, economic and cultural cooperation and interaction between the two states for the benefit of their peoples, acting in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 18 April 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 23 April 1963, announce the mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries at the embassy level from the date of publication of this Communique
