Over the past day, South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee conducted 48 tests (568 in total), of which 5 gave a positive result for coronavirus, all the rest were negative. Thus, on the morning of May 14, 30 cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection were confirmed in the laboratory of the Republic, Anna Gagloeva, Deputy head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Сcommittee, told IA "Res" on Thursday.

"The coronavirus was confirmed in four cadets of the Russian military universities and a citizen of the Republic who arrived through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They were all in quarantine," Gagloeva said.

She has noted that a total of 279 people are under the two weeks quarantine,139 are in medical institutions of the Republic and 73 in the districts. In addition, 43 people are self-insulated at home and another 24 are quarantined at the hotel "Alan».

The sanitary service calls on the citizens of the Republic to observe all security measures.

Earlier, President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, signed a decree declaring non-working days from May 12 to May 28 inclusively with the preservation of wages due to the situation with COVID-19.

The Cabinet of Ministers of South Ossetia extended restrictive measures in the Republic until May 31. All public places remain closed, except for food and non-food stores, beauty salons and workshops. The ban remains on holding cultural events.

The border of South Ossetia with the Russian Federation was completely closed from May 10 to 17, and restrictions on movement through the state border were introduced until May 31.

The first three cases of infection in the republic were recorded on May 6.
