President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has laid a wreath at the memorial to the residents of the village of Pris, Tskhinval district, who fell on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, the press service of the head of state reports.

"The commemorative event was also attended by Prime Minister Gennady Bekoev, Chairman of the Parliament Alan Tadtaev, Head of the Presidential Executive Office Igor Kozaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, representatives of the Republic's public," the press service said.

In the capital of the Republic on May 8 and 9, the events are being held for Victory Day. In the morning, on the Walk of Fame in the capital of the Republic, a solemn meeting was held, timed to coincide with the next anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people over the Nazi invaders. The "Soldier's Halt" was also held for veterans and other residents of the Republic on the territory of the pioneer park.

On May 9, in Tskhinval, on the Theater Square, the Victory Parade will take place at 11:00, followed by a procession of the "Immortal Regiment", as well as a festive concert.
