The programs that are being implemented in South Ossetia with the help of the Russian Federation will have a positive effect on the life of every resident in the Republic, President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov said on Wednesday at the expanded meeting with the participation of Deputy Secretary of the RF Security Council Rashid Nurgaliev. Head of the Presidential Office for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Igor Maslov and other members of the Russian delegation who had arrived in the Republic.
“Today we see that the final stages of the implementation of the Investment Program for the Promotion of Socio- Economic Development of the Republic are underway. A new backup power transmission line is also being put into operation, and its opening will take place in two days. We all know how important it is to the Republic. There was a time when the population was left without electricity for a week or even longer,” the President said.
According to him, another serious project, which is also at the finish line, is the program for socio-economic development of South Ossetia.
“The document is being approved by the relevant ministries of Russia, it will give us serious opportunities to advance in the economic sphere, from increasing jobs to reducing, in general, the level of subsidies from the Russian Federation,” the head of state said.
Rashid Nurgaliev has noted that security issues will be studied with his South Ossetian counterpart during his stay in the Republic.
“We will also hold a large working meeting on the protection of the state border, we will get acquainted with how the work to combat the coronavirus is organized.
The issue of energy security is also very important, we have done this work with you collectively. We arrived in a good mood, to work and think about how to move on,” he stressed.
Igor Maslov drew attention to the importance of the RSO socio- economic development program for 2022 -2025.
“This is a rather ambitious document, the result of very close work with the President and Government of the Republic. We need to agree on the latest positions at the interdepartmental level, and it will be submitted for discussion and approval by the parliament and the public of the Republic. During these years, the well-coordinated work is to be done so that the Republic reaches the socio-economic indicators of the North Caucasus Federal District in 2025, "he said.
The meeting was also attended by the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, Head of the Presidential Executive Office Igor Kozaev, Prime Minister Gennady Bekoev, Deputy Head of the Office of the Presidential Executive Office for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Viktor Shargaev, and others.
