Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Turkey Burkhan Khosity, on the invitation of the organizers of the event, took part in the Third International Circassian Conference, which is being held at the Baglarbashi Congress and Culture Center in Istanbul (Turkey) from June 24 to 27. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The Third International Circassian Conference, which is being held under the motto "Together for a better future", brought together Circassians from the republics of the North Caucasus, the USA, Canada, Europe, Jordan, Israel, and Turkey. The conference was organized by the Circassian Repatriation Support Organization, the Nuremberg Circassian Association, the Circassian Women's Society Teavun, 2 federations and 6 associations of Turkey.
As part of the meeting of the second day of the Conference, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the republics of the North Caucasus, a speech was made by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Republic of Turkey Burhan Khosity. In his speech, Burkhan Khosity, having greeted the participants on behalf of South Ossetia, spoke about the history, culture and traditions of the Ossetians, in particular, about the history of the formation of the Republic of South Ossetia, about the wars and difficulties that the Ossetian people had to endure in the struggle for their independence, about the genocide Ossetians from Georgia, about the historical role of Russia in the fate of Ossetia. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia also briefed the audience on the current political and socio-economic situation in South Ossetia, shared the aspirations of the Ossetian people.
The speech was warmly received by the participants of the event.
Representatives of the Republic of Adygea, the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic, the Republic of Abkhazia, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the Republic of Ingushetia, the Chechen Republic, the Republic of Dagestan also spoke at the meeting of the second day of the International Conference.
The Republic of North Ossetia-Alania was represented by Sadrettin Kusaty, Chairman of the Ossetian society of Turkey “Alan”.
The representatives of the Republics were awarded diplomas of the Conference participants.
About 70 speakers attended the Conference, including scientists, opinion leaders, representatives of institutions and youth, who presented their ideas and proposals.
The International Circassian Conference was founded as a platform where Circassian civil activists, representatives of the business community, the scientific academic environment meet and exchange ideas in key areas of their activity in order to preserve their identity and culture.
