The position of Georgia towards the Russian Federation does not suit the countries of the West, Zita Besaeva, a member of the South Ossetian Parliament, the Chairman of the Nykhas political party, told the “Res” news agency.

“Today we are observing the processes that are taking place in Georgia. It did not join the sanctions that imposed by the West against Russia and, of course, the idea of opening a second front,” Besaeva said.

According to the deputy, the situation in Georgia is being rocked from the inside in order to arrange a civil war, to carry out a coup d'etat.

“It is important for the United States that the swinging of the situation leads to the opening of a second front. It should be noted that this is not the first time the West uses these methods in relation to other countries in which color revolutions took place. In particular, we can give an example of Ukraine - this is the "Maidan", as a result of which a coup d'état was carried out, and people who were aggressive towards Russia came to power. I want to note that this policy of the West is destructive,” Besaeva said.

She has stressed that the destructive nature of these processes, first of all, will harm Georgia itself.

"Obviously, the current government of Georgia is pro-Western, but the authorities are cautious in making decisions in relation to Russia, realizing that such decisions will be fraught with danger for their country," the party Chairman said.

The MP has noted that Georgia will be a bargaining chip for the West.

“We are a nation that understands well what Georgia is capable of, and our leadership has made certain decisions. The threat always exists and we must be ready for anything,” concluded Zita Besaeva.
