President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev sent a telegram of condolences to the head of the Luhansk People's Republic Leonid Pasechnik in connection with the terrorist attack in Lisichansk, the press service of the head of state reports.

“We have received with deep regret the news of the tragic event that occurred on February 3 in the city of Lysichansk - the death of civilians, among whom were a pregnant woman and a child. There is no justification for such inhumane actions on the part of the armed forces of Ukraine. Such violent acts violate the basic principles of peace and security that must be protected by the international community,” the text of the telegram of condolences published on the official website of the head of state reads.

The President has noted that he shares the bitterness of the irreparable loss of all those who suffered as a result of this terrible incident.

“On behalf of the leadership, the people of Republic of South Ossetia and on my own behalf, I express condolences to all the relatives and friends of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to everyone who was injured in this terrible tragedy,” Gagloev said.

In the afternoon, on February 3, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at the bakery in Lisichansk. Later it became known that dozens of people could remain under the rubble. The strike was allegedly carried out from the HIMARS MLRS. The work at the scene of the tragedy continued throughout the night. As a result, the bodies of 28 civilians, including one child, were taken out from under the rubble. February 4 was declared a day of mourning in the LPR.
