ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH OSSETIA

On 28 September 2006 at 20:30 near a Georgian village Avnevi, located in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetia conflict and controlled by the Georgian side, were attacked peacekeepers of the Joint Forces in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict.

IN THE ZONE OF THE GOERGIAN-OSSETIAN CONFLICT WERE BEATEN THREE PEACEKEEPERS

On 28 September, around 20:30, near a Georgian village Avnevi, seven unknown people in masks and black uniform of the Special Forces of the Georgian Ministry of Defense, armed with automatic weapons fired white vehicle “Niva” that belonged to the North Ossetian peacekeeping battalion of the JPKF.

LEADERSHIP OF GEORGIA IS MISLEADING THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

Further to the sudden accusations by the Georgian leadership in criminogenic situation all over the Republic of South Ossetia and hysteria exacerbated by the Georgian mass media, the correspondent of “Res” agency approached the Minister of Interior press-service for comments.

Republic of South Ossetia was visited by the European Union Special Representative in South Caucasus, Peter Semnebi. He was accompanied by: Robert Liden, Adviser for the European Commission, Diana Yanse, Political Adviser to the Special Representative, and Izolt Figerald, Political Adviser to the Special Representative.

GEORGIAN SPECIAL SERVICE JAMS OSSETIAN RADIO STATIONS

Georgian Special Service again showed up on the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia. This time they are jamming Ossetian radio stations, particularly radio station “Aizald-FM”.

OFFICERS OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR WERE ATTACKED

Operative group of the Ministry of Interior of the RSO, which was investigating the fact of abduction and beating on September 22 the resident of an Ossetian village Pris, was attacked by the Georgian Special forces. As a result of the firing two officers of the Ministry of Interior of the RSO Tedeev Atsamaz Zaurovich – 32 years and Kokoev Akhsar Georgievich – 37 years were wounded.

ABDUCTION BY THE GEORGIAN SPECIAL FORCES

On September 22 resident of village Pris Artem Besaev, born in 1986, was abducted by armed people in masks, while he was looking for his cattle. According to Besaev, he was strongly hit into his head and lost consciousness. He recovered in a destroyed house in the outskirts of a Georgian village Kheiti. In the same house he was beaten up and tortured.
