At the session of the Parliament held 5 May, the government's impeachment was discussed. Head of the Parliament Committee for Legislature and Local Governance Amiran Diakonov took the floor. According to him, the activities of the government's structures engaged in the economic sector led to paralyzed executive branch of power in South Ossetia and this had "an extremely negative impact on the life of the population and caused social tensions".

The Prime-Minister Vadim Brovtsev responded to the claims of the impeachment initiators stating that the allegations were groundless and the Government fully manages its duties. As a result, an ad hoc parliamentary commission has been established to inspect the activities of the Government.
Zurab Kokoev, deputy parliament speaker, was assigned as the Commission Chair. The Commission also included members of the parliament – Amiran Diakonov, Gennady Kokoev, Mair Sanakoev and Merab Chigoev. The Commission might engage more specialists into its investigation activities.
