South Ossetian professional boxers will fight for the world title

June 26 South Ossetian professional boxer Murat Gassiev will fight for the WBC world title among youth. The fight will take place in Chelyabinsk (Russia) within the frames of the International Festival of Martial Arts "For Russia." As IA "Res" has been informed by a coach of the South Ossetian boxer Vitali Slanov, Gassiev`s rival is a Georgian professional boxer Levan Dzhomardashvili. Both athletes perform in the weight category up to 90.7 kg.

"Today Gassiev has successfully passed through the procedure of weighting before the fight. His weight is 90 kilograms 300 grams, the weight of his opponent - 90 kilograms 700 grams, "- said the coach, adding that Gassiev has a good chance to win the fight.
Murat Gassiev had 11 professional boxing fights and won a victory in all of them, in seven bouts it was a knockout victory. Gassiev is 19 years old; he is a prize- winner of the Russian championship and the Cup of Russia among young people.
Levan Dzhomardashvili is a four-time champion of Georgia among amateurs and a champion of Georgia among professionals. The athlete is 24 years old, he held 41 fights, in the 31st bout he won a victory, and in 22 bouts he won an early victory.
