Ossetian fighter won silver at the world hand-to-hand combat championship

Fighter from South Ossetia Ruslan Besaev (weight class up to 90 kg) has become a silver medalist of the third world hand-to-hand combat championship, completed yesterday in Moscow.
As reported by the Committee on Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism of South Ossetia, Besaev in the final match lost to the Russian athlete, world champion Roman Kopylov.
During the preliminary fights our athlete has shown good results, but, unfortunately, in the final match lost to his opponent.
In the championship have also participated other athletes from South Ossetia: Spartak Tskhovrebov (weight class up to 70 kg.), Shamil Jabiyev (weight class up to 75 kg.), Alan Pukhaev (weight class up to 80 kg.), George Pukhaev (weight class up to 85 kg.) and George Gabaraev (weight class over 95 kg.).
In the third world hand-to-hand combat championship participated athletes from 47 countries. More than 160 fighters were fighting for the title in nine men's and eight women's weight classes.
The fighters from South Ossetia were participating for the first time in the world hand-to-hand combat championship.
