The head of the South Ossetian delegation at a meeting in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRMI), Yegor Kochiev, rejected the accusations of Georgia about the alleged violation of the Georgian airspace by a Russian helicopter.

"The Georgian party accused us of having crossed the Georgian airspace by a Russian helicopter, and activated this issue during the IPRM meeting, but did not provide any evidence," Kochiev told reporters on the results of the IPRM meeting on Thursday in the border region of Ergnet.

He stressed that "Russian helicopters are flying in the depths of the territory of South Ossetia and have never crossed the airspace of Georgia."

Meetings in the format of the IPRM are held regularly since 2009. Representatives of South Ossetia, Russia and Georgia participate in them. Meetings are held under the mediation of the OSCE and the European Union.
