Ossetians living in Turkey closely monitor the achievements of South Ossetia’s leadership in the development of diplomatic relations and cooperation with other countries, Remzi Kanukati, plenipotentiary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in the Republic of Turkey, said during a meeting with the President.

President Anatoly Bibilov received the Plenipotentiary on Friday, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Medoev also took part in the meeting.

After welcoming the guest, the head of state thanked him for his visit to the south of Ossetia with his family.

“We understand your love for Ossetia and the kind of work you are doing in Turkey in order to attract interest to Ossetia and our hospitable people. I wish the Lord to give your family well-being, and you - great success and advancement in the important work being done, ” said Anatoly Bibilov.

In turn, Remzi Kanukati told the President about the work of the Ossetian community in Turkey during the military aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia from 1992 to 2008. He has noted that representatives of the peoples of the Caucasus, living in Turkey, are united, and they were working together in difficult years to provide assistance to South Ossetia as far as possible, and today they are closely monitoring the situation in the Republic.

“Ossetians live in many parts of the world, but they were learned more about them after the tragic events of August 2008. War is a terrible phenomenon, but the hardest thing to hear is the news of the war from the motherland,” he noted.
