Schoolchildren from South Ossetia, located in St. Petersburg as part of the Rossotrudnichestvo program "Hello, Russia", carried out the action "Buried in our memory for centuries the dates, events, and faces," the head of the delegation, teacher Tamara Tuaeva told IA “Res”

“Being far from the homeland and not having the opportunity, together with the inhabitants of the Republic, to commemorate the hard days of our history, schoolchildren lit a candle of memory on the Neva embankment. Having formed a circle of trust, the guys shared with each other their memories of those tragic days,” said Tuaeva.

According to her, she held an educational conversation with schoolchildren, noting that to forget the past was a crime.

“If we remember, if we defending our independence, if we are developing and moving forward, then the feat of our people is not in vain,” concluded Tuaeva.

Children from South Ossetia will be in St. Petersburg as part of the Rossotrudnichestvo program “Hello, Russia - 2019!” until August 10.

The program participants have become 18 pupils of the Republic - winners and prize winners of various competitions.

The project has been implementing by Rossotrudnichestvo since 2014, and every year compatriots from different countries visit Russia, they get acquainted with its history and culture.
