The past years have shown that the decision made by the Russian leadership that was crucial for the South Ossetian people to recognize them was legally sound and politically balanced, said President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov.
"This decision was the only possible way to make the victory irreversible, not to allow the enemy to nullify its results by all kinds of cunning manipulations and, if necessary, achieve military revenge. This decision marked the entry into a new era for South Ossetia, and on the global scale, the actual end of a unipolar world order," - the President said, speaking at a solemn meeting on Monday.
According to him, the consolidation of recognition through the development of relations of alliance and integration processes, the inclusion of South Ossetia in the united security space of the Russian Federation have become a reliable guarantee for the future and security of our people.
"And the successful development of the Republic with large-scale and comprehensive assistance of Russia is an eloquent and clear response to the propaganda exercises of Georgia and its sponsors, who are trying to present the life of our country in gloomy colors," he emphasized.
In South Ossetia, according to the head of state, is visible every year more and more evidence of successful development and people's confidence in a reliable future.
“Our people are striving for tomorrow, and each year will be better than the previous one,” said Anatoly Bibilov. “But we will forever preserve the history of our path to freedom, the national memory of the difficulties and losses suffered, of the resilience and heroism of those who defended our Fatherland. "Forever gratitude will remain in our hearts for Russia, which resolutely defended South Ossetia in August 2008 and which, by its recognition, opened up the possibility for the Republic of equal and free development."
Anatoly Bibilov addressed the fellow citizens with words of congratulation on the Day of recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.
“Peace, prosperity and well-being; to our Fatherland! Long live the Republic of South Ossetia! Long live the Russian Federation! Happy Holidays!” He concluded.
A ceremonial meeting is being held in Tskhinval on the 11th anniversary of the recognition of South Ossetia’s independence by Russia, in which the country's leadership, representatives of the legislative and executive branches of government, ministries and departments, and the public of the Republic are taking part. Among the guests is the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Vyacheslav Bitarov.
The program of today's events also includes the ethnographic holiday "Heritage of the Ancestors" in the village of Khetagurovo, a large concert "Songs born of Freedom ..." at the republican stadium and fireworks.
