At the meeting, will be discussed the only issue on the removal of the Georgian roadblock in Tsnelis

The seventh technical meeting as part of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM) is taking place on Tuesday in the border village of Ergneti.

As reported to IA "Res» by the office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary of the Republic, the parties intend to discuss only one issue - the situation in the village of Tsnelis (Uista) in Znaur district of South Ossetia, where the Georgian side illegally put up a police post.

At the last meeting, which took place over three hours, South Ossetia and Georgia did not come to a common denominator. As Yegor Kochiev, head of the South Ossetian delegation to the IPRM, said, "each party has its own opinion, but there is an understanding that this incident should be resolved by purely peaceful means."

According to him, at this stage, the Georgian party does not compromise.

"South Ossetia states that the only possible way to solve this incident is to remove the Georgian police post from the territory of South Ossetia, withdraw the armed men and demilitarize this region," he said.

It should be reminded l that the situation on the border of South Ossetia with Georgia escalated in late August, when Georgian police officers in the territory of South Ossetia in the vicinity of the village of Uista (Tsnelis) in Znaur district put up an illegal post. Since then, at the technical meetings within the framework of the IPRM, the parties discuss the ways out of this situation, but so far, they have not come to a common denominator.
