A presentation of a guide to South Ossetia took place in Moscow.

The event was attended by President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Sergei Menyailo and the Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev, the press service of the head of state reported.

The book from the series "Polyglot - Russian Guide" was published in 2021 by the Moscow publishing house AJAX-PRESS.

The guide has included overview maps and routes around the districts of the Republic of South Ossetia and its capital, Tskhinval, as well as accommodation tips, contact and other useful information for tourists.

The guide was published with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of South Ossetia and the Trade Mission of South Ossetia in Russia.

In his welcoming speech, the trade representative of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation, Taimuraz Goginov, has noted that the guide will allow all Russian-speaking people to get acquainted with the history, culture, geography and cuisine of the State of Alania.

"I am proud of my homeland. And today I had the pleasant honor to present the first guide in the history of South Alanya in Russian.

The hospitality of the people is taking care of the guests who are just going to visit the country. This is the creation of an opportunity to get acquainted with information about the country in the native language of the guest. This is why a guide to South Ossetia in Russian was created. The authors have done everything to make even a correspondence acquaintance with our country as complete and comfortable as possible," Taimuraz Goginov stressed.

For his part, Anatoly Bibilov noted the great importance of the published guidebook for the development of tourism in South Ossetia. He has also said that tourism has great development prospects in the Republic and the leadership of South Ossetia considers this direction one of the priorities.
