A regular meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) is taking place in Ergnet, on the border between South Ossetia and Georgia.

The main topic of discussion, as before, will be the illegal Georgian police post, located in South Ossetia since the end of August 2019.

The meeting participants will also discuss security issues in the region and analyze border violation statistics recorded since the previous IPRM meeting.

The meeting is being held without the participation of media representatives.

A meeting between South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev and President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, took place, the presidential press service reports.

The President warmly welcomed Badra Gunba and members of the Abkhaz delegation, noting the significance of their visit during the anniversary celebrations.

In Tskhinval, South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev has met with Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office, who arrived for celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the Republic's proclamation.

During their conversation, Kiriyenko thanked the head of state for the invitation.

"Thank you very much for the invitation to visit South Ossetia on such a day – the 35th anniversary of the Republic. It is a great honor to share with you, with all the Ossetian people, the joy of this event," he has noted.

A military parade commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Republic's proclamation has begun on Tskhinval's Theater Square.

Observing the parade from the stands are the officials of the Republic, led by the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev, Abkhazian President Badra Gunba, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko, and delegations from friendly republics that have arrived for the celebrations.

More than 3,000 delegates attended the 1st International Economic Forum "South Ossetia: Investment Horizons" in the Republic's capital. More than 10 investment agreements were signed at the Forum, Taimuraz Goginov, head of the organizing committee and South Ossetia's trade representative to the Russian Federation, told the TASS studio during the Forum in Tskhinval.
