In Tskhinval has taken place a meeting of the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov with the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia, led by President Raul Khajimba, arrived to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Leonid Tibilov has welcomed the guests, noting that in South Ossetia are always glad to welcome the arrival of representatives of fraternal peoples.
"We are happy that today, you, our brothers, are with us, - said the president. - We have gone the same way and will continue to do everything possible to ensure the relationship between our countries will meet the interests of our peoples, moving along the path chosen by our peoples. This is a very important point. "
According to Tibilov, the peoples of South Ossetia and Abkhazia have suffered a lot.
"We came through wars, forced upon us by our southern neighbors, - the president said. - We are entering new levels of construction and strengthening of the state, we see the successes that are available the Republic of Abkhazia and always welcome the positive developments. "
Raul Khajimba has congratulated the President and the people of South Ossetia on the 25th anniversary of proclamation of the Republic.
"We are laying today the foundations that will enable future generations to say that their ancestors have done everything for our people to survive - said Khajimba. - We have a major strategic partner - Russia, which facilitates the process of formation of our states. "
Khajimba said that for 25 years the people of South Ossetia and Abkhazia had gone through many problems.
"Our neighbors in Georgia do not realize that we must live in peace. There is not any alternative to the path that we have chosen and they have to realize this fact", - said Khajimba.
At the end of the meeting members of the Abkhazian delegation were presented state awards of the Republic.
