The report of the South Ossetian delegation to the media on the outcome of the 41st round of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia

October 10-11, 2017 in Geneva was held the next round of international discussions on security in Transcaucasia. It was attended by the delegations of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the Russian Federation, the United States, as well as the EU, the UN and the OSCE representatives. The South Ossetian delegation was headed by the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy for Post-Conflict Settlement Murat Dzhioev.
Discussions were held in two working groups: on security and humanitarian issues.

Russia is interested in a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh

Against the background of the general stabilization of the situation in the Caucasus, recently it has made itself felt the smoldering conflict around Nagorno- Karabakh. Despite the abundance of political actors that are involved in its settlement, only Russia is interested in the effectiveness of the efforts to establish long-term peace. This is explained not only by humanistic, but also by completely pragmatic considerations.
