President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has received the head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik. During the meeting, the first persons discussed issues of bilateral relations between the countries.

Anatoly Bibilov greeted Leonid Pasechnik as the elected head of state, noting that the struggle of the people of the LPR was tense and, despite the difficulties, the people held out against the enemy.

In Tskhinval was held a solemn ceremony of the meeting of President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, and the head of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Leonid Pasechnik. On the central square of Tskhinval, in front of the presidential administration building, were lined up a joint company and orchestra of the guard of honor of the Defense Ministry of the Republic.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has issued a decision that it will not consider the claims of residents of the Republic of South Ossetia to Georgia on the events of August 2008.

According to the South Ossetian expert Yuri Vazagov, this decision of the Strasbourg Court was predictable, since the political commitment and bias of the western judicial instances has long been known.

Vazagov drew attention to the activities of another body - The Hague Court, which also repeatedly demonstrated its bias and double standards in its work.

The European Court of Human Rights refused 7 out of 1,500 citizens of South Ossetia to consider claims against Georgia on the events of military aggression in August 2008,told Res agency Inal Tasoev, Presidential Commissioner of South Ossetia for human rights.

The European Court of Human Rights announced on Thursday that did not see any grounds for accepting several lawsuits in which the residents of Tskhinval accused the Georgian armed forces of life-threatening actions.

As noted in the court’s press release, the ECHR will not consider two of the three lawsuits filed by residents of the Republic of South Ossetia against Georgia on the events of August 2008.

South Ossetian expert Inal Pliev has commented on the decision of the European Court of Human Rights, which announced on Thursday that there were no reasons for accepting several lawsuits in which the residents of Tskhinval accused Georgian armed forces of considering life-threatening actions:

I hope that the information spread by other media is incorrect or incomplete. Because when reading it, the thought immediately arises: why they did not bring complaints about more egregious and obvious crimes?

On December 11-12, 2018,in Geneva took place the 46th Round of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia, held in accordance with the August 12 and September 8, 2008 Medvedev-Sarkozy agreements. The delegations of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the Russian Federation, the USA, as well as the EU, the UN and the OSCE representatives took part in the discussions.

Georgia’s hostile rhetoric on the situation around Abkhazia and South Ossetia has not changed after the presidential elections, told RIA Novosti Secretary of State and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin following a regular round of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia, Dmitry Medoev, called the year 2018 saturated and significant in terms of the development of the country's foreign policy ties.

“In January took place the first visit of the President of South Ossetia to the center of Europe. It was a very serious breakthrough. In addition, this year took place our visit to Nauru on the 50th anniversary of the country, which is a member of many international organizations. Interesting trips to Italy also took place, which will be developed,”said the Foreign Minister at a press conference in Tskhinval.

South Ossetia is demonstrating in the international arena readiness for full-scale security work in the region, which is the main goal of the Geneva discussions, said Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev.
