President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of South Ossetia Roin Kozaev has been refused the registration as a candidate for President of the Republic.
As reported to IA "Res" by the Chairman of the Central Election Committee of South Ossetia Bella Plieva, the decision was made in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Constitutional Law of South Ossetia "On elections of President of South Ossetia" and the Constitutional Law of South Ossetia, "On guarantees of electoral rights and the right to participate in the referendum of the citizens of South Ossetia."
The CEC explained that, according to conclusion of the linguistic commissions Kozaev Roin Raminovich had failed to undergo the procedure of revealing the skills of the official languages of South Ossetia; that was the ground for refusal of registration. It has also been noted that the subscription lists, submitted by the authorized representatives of the action group, nominating Kozaev, contained excess of statutory percentage of invalid signatures, that it also the ground for refusal of registration.
It should be noted, that for today the Central Election Committee has registered 12 action groups nominating candidates for the presidency of the Republic: Deputy Defense Minister Igor Alborov, former Chairman of the State Committee of Information, Communication and Mass Media of South Ossetia Georgy Kabisov, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia Yuri Dzitstsoity, a Chairman of the RSO Chamber of Commerce Roin Kozaev, ex-Chairman of the Committee of Transportation Maurice Sanakoev, RSO parliamentary deputy of the IVth convocation Sergei Zasseev, ex-presidential candidate, RSO parliamentary deputy of the IId and IVth convocations Vladimir Kelekhsaev, a consultant of the RSO presidential envoy Leonid Tibilov, a businessman Oleg Kozaev, chief bailiff of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of South Ossetia Sergei Bitiev, the former head of Dzausky district Ruslan Bagaev, former head of the Department of Education Inal Dzukaev.
The CEC has also registered the authorized representatives of the Communist Party of South Ossetia, nominating Stanislaus Kochiev. At the beginning of the next week the CEC will consider packages of documents of the action groups, nominating Sergey Pliev and Anatoly Dzhioev, as well as the party "Raestag IR" (Fair Ossetia), putting forward the candidacy of the former head of the Dzausky administration Pavel Kumaritov. The CEC refused to register the action groups, nominating Albert Dzhussoev and Vasily Khachirov as the candidates for president of South Ossetia. The registered action groups must submit to the CEC the subscription lists with the required 500 signatures till February 19. The subscription lists will be considered till February 29; after that it will be announced the final list of the candidates for the presidency of the Republic.
Re-election of the president of South Ossetia will be held March 25, 2012.
