The Inter-parliamentary Assembly, which includes the legislative bodies of the three countries: South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Transnistria, adopted a joint statement in which supported the policy of the Russian Federation in Syria, said the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Shcherba during a press conference in Tskhinval.
"Today Russia is performing the function of a leader of the Russian world and a peacemaker on a global scale," Shcherba said. "Therefore, the statement, which we unanimously supported today, the parliamentarians of the three republics confirmed the correctness of the goals and tasks reached by the Russian Federation in Syria."
According to the Speaker of the Supreme Council of the PMR, "the parties have confirmed that if today we do not repulse the manifestations of anti-humanism, tomorrow the terrorist threat will become a reality not only in Russia, but possibly in South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Transdniestria."
"We have already passed through this; no one wants it to be repeated. And that is why on the common ground of international cooperation we condemned terrorism and called upon the world community to stop the practice of double standards and call things by the right names, "Shcherba said.
