President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov attended the ceremony of assuming office of the elected President of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba, the press service of the head of state said. The inauguration of the President of the Republic of Armenia was held in the Assembly Hall of the Cabinet of Ministers in Sukhum.
"The past presidential election in Abkhazia reaffirmed adherence to democratic principles in our country and demonstrated the viability of the Republic of Abkhazia as a state," said the Speaker, further introducing the oath to the president.

Upon taking office, he was officially handed over the seals depicting the state emblem of the Republic of Abkhazia and the inscription "President of the Republic of Abkhazia", as well as the president’s standard, a checker symbolizing the role of the president as commander in chief, and the national Abkhaz staff - alabash as a symbol of wisdom and endurance.
The vector for rapprochement between Abkhazia and Russia is unchanged, relations between the two countries must continue to be filled with useful content, said Raul Khadjimba, who was elected for a second term.
"The vector for rapprochement with Russia is unshakableу. Abkhazia remains an important player in the process of strengthening stability and security in the Caucasus region. We will do everything to further fill the allied Abkhaz-Russian relations with content useful for the peoples of the two countries," Khajimba said.
He has noted that Abkhazia currently enjoys the "absolute support of the Russian Federation."
“Within the framework of the implementation of the Treaty of Alliance and Strategic Partnership, significant progress has been made in the areas of socio-economic and investment cooperation, infrastructure development, strengthening the general defense and security circuit, joint foreign policy efforts, and cooperation in the field of culture, science and education. The legal framework of Abkhaz-Russian relations is being strengthened. Today we are actively working on the development of maritime and air communications between the two countries, "the President of Abkhazia added.
Khadjimba has also noted that Abkhazia will have to continue working on the formation of a modern political system. "Our legislation should be understandable for the outside world and, first of all, for our strategic partner - Russia. It is necessary to continue the formation of a modern, effective, responsive political system to citizens' requests, to expand access to decision-making by representatives of different ethnic groups of our society," he explained.
According to the President of the Republic, the main task of the authorities of Abkhazia remains the promotion of international recognition of its independence. “I’m sure that the recognition by the Syrian Arab Republic will be followed by similar acts of other states,” Khajimba added.
Anatoly Bibilov, congratulating the incumbent President of the Republic of Armenia, has emphasized that the vote at the elections summed up the activities of Raul Khadjimb, showing that the majority of voters, as before, associate with his name the prospect of further progressive development of the country.
“The success of Raul Dzhumkovich and the whole Republic was a noticeable strengthening of Abkhaz statehood. There is progress in strengthening civic harmony, the rule of law and stability, and the rule of law in the state.
