At the Tskhinval school No. 3, the opening ceremony of a memorial plaque was held in honor of the evacuation hospital No. 1960, deployed on the territory of the educational institution during the Great Patriotic War, has taken place. Here, soldiers who were wounded on the battlefields received medical care.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev, Speaker of Parliament Alan Alborov, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, heads of the ministries and departments.

During the event, it has been noted that thousands of Red Army soldiers were being treated in the hospital, who were being helped by ordinary townspeople. In memory of the residents of Stalinir who contributed to the common Victory, a memorial plaque has been unveiled.

Ambassador Kulakhmetov has noted that the brown plague, which passed in the 20th century, also affected South Ossetia.

“It knocked on the window of every house. There is no family that would not be affected by this terrible grief. Residents of South Ossetia, like the entire Soviet people, took the path of fighting fascism. By their military labor in the rear, they were forging our Victory,” the Ambassador said.

He has added that during the war, two evacuation hospitals were deployed in Stalinir, in which about six thousand people were being treated.

Kulakhmetov has emphasized that the memory of that generation of Tskhinval residents who were working in hospitals, helping the wounded, should be alive.

The honorary right to open the memorial plaque was given to director of school No. 3 Madina Bestaeva.

Next, the school pupils presented a small concert program. The event ended with the laying of flowers at the memorial.
